| History
I moved from Nantucket Island to
Cambridge in the late fall of 2000. I
started Learner Design that year after getting started
designing flyers for friends and
DJ's in the Boston dance scene. Each month 5000
flyers would get printed and they would make their
way all over Boston. I would find them on Newbury
street sidewalks, North End pizzeria Walls. People
called, projects followed.
One of which was Semaphore
Inc. Semaphore is a marketing firm that
helps financial institutions sell more of their services
to their customers. They make kiosks, posterframes,
table top pamphlet holders etc. for huge banks.
It was great experience. I helped them in all
stages of the design process. I did everything from
photograph interiors of bank branches all over Ohio,
to designing floorplans, sales presentaion materials,
direct mail pieces, and posters to be used by the
banks themselves.
Hiatus
In the fall of 2002 I began my career as a licensed
real estate agent in Cambridge, MA. I continued
my design habit by building the web presences for
Gathering
Storm Press , Highland Commons, and NoahLearner.com
I marketed apartments and condominiums extensively
online on my noahlearner.com site and also on Craig's
List and bostonapartments.com.
I used the web day to day as an engine of commerce.
I also worked with Lori Kunz to publish a book titled,
Wildflowers
of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket Island.
Lori wrote and illustrated the book and I designed
the book cover, and executed the layout.
Renewal
I moved back to Nantucket Island in 2005
after many moons living in Boston. I am excited
to be here and build up the business. |
